Default Running 90mph plus in 30ft or less vhull

Recently purchased a 29 fever with big block twin motors, first time ever owning a boat that's anything faster than 70 mph wot just looking for similar setups and what people have done to achieve the "sweet spot"

Current set up
98 single step
Twin 540 EFI
XZ drives with -2 Sport masters
32 Bravos that need replacing edges are junk

Currently tabs at 4 drives at 4.5
Revving 4950 5000 RPMS at 91mph
With some aggressive chine

Those 29s always chine...in fact that is why they made singles afterwards (lawsuits because they were too dangerous or so I heard). Not enough boat. My friend had one for about 10 yrs, never got it to run smooth over 80, always a handful.

How I achieved the sweet spot - I sold the SCARAB and bought a CAT ( 26 Daytona ) I hit 112 last Sunday. Still playing with props and have to learn how to drive the boat again because I made way too many changes at one time.

283 Checkmate - 84gps...mine has extension boxes though, going to swap to 380plates instead of the current 280 k planes and see how that helps next year as !motors are getting refreshed

Mine chine walks after 78mph

I think you should be turning more RPM's with those 540's you might need to prop down a bit.

The single 27' Fountain that I have drove is a handful around 73-80, but a predictable handful if that makes sense. Smooths out at 80 and good till 95. Adjustable extension box, and 380 tabs.

I had a 30' Checkmate running well over 100 with little to no chine walking. It's all in the setup.

96 Mph in a 21 v hull , almost on rails very little chinewalk like check say its all in set up , I had a bravo 1 ,a blackhawk and finaly a imco -3" on it .

It take a lot of time and testing to get it done but its worth it ! You need to be safe at these speeds !
