LOTO Question please

Headed there for next weekends Shootout events. I've never been there. Questions are?

1.) Best place to stay for four guys that don't have a budget.

2.) Best airport to fly into with a private plane and be the closest to the action? Grand Glaze Osage Beach (K15)

3.) Any must do bars or just go with the flow?

Nate5.0 08-19-2016 07:50 AM

for lodging rent a house at this point.

i would say Camden but they are pretty much booked up budget or not. We got a room after being on the waiting list since December and we always get a suite there but all they had was a take it or leave it parking lot view room.....we took it lol.

also check out the Ledges....lots of folks staying there. Can put you in touch with someone if need be.

i got nothing for #2....we fly into Branson and it isnt that close.

3. PBC on thursday, Dog days on fri, Camden hotel on Sat. Also make sure and visit captian Ron's. There is a TON i am leaving out, there is jusy so many great spots

dykstra 08-19-2016 07:51 AM

I'll answer question 3. PBC party Thursday night, Dog Days Friday night, Shootout Saturday and then Captain Rons//H Toads that night.

dykstra 08-19-2016 07:52 AM

Ha Nate5.0, Beat me to it.

K15 or Lee C Fine.

TriPaC87 08-19-2016 08:26 AM

Grand Glaize-Osage Beach Airport (K15) is "closest" but has a shorter runway (3205 x 60 ft). Lee C Fine (AIZ) has a longer runway (6497 x 100 ft) but is just a little bit farther of a drive in to Osage. If you need to rent a car, get on it quick.

Camden does have rooms available if you want to stay at the spot with the most boat action. Not sure if they have 4 rooms but they have some.

when we booked last week we were told 4 rooms opened up. All non suites facing the parking lot.

We were fine with cause its the best place to stay but not sure open budget folks want what is essentially a basic room without view. I do say it is worth it, the rooms certanly are not dumps at all, still very nice and all the action is at Camden.

Since you don't have a budget, I'll be so kind as to help you out.

1. I'll rent you my house for $10,000 a night.

2. I have an 11 ACRE point, hopefully you have a Harier and can drop straight down (no charge)

3. I will personally drive you to all the best places, $1,000 a stop.

That be where we are staying Wed - Sun. Rented there multiple times. Should still be some units available. Check VRBO.

BraceYourself 08-19-2016 10:35 AM

Thanks so much for all the information!!!

I paid a little premium but am staying at Camden in a double grand suite overlooking the marina. I am flying into (K15) and is 15 miles from Camden. It's a short 3,200 feet so just be on your game.

First time for us guys and really looking forward to it. Rooting for Flight Club's Skater to tear up the lake.

Coming in Friday and leaving Monday.

Nate5.0 08-19-2016 11:05 AM

You wont regret it at all

See you there! I too am pulling for Ron and the team this year!

ben 08-19-2016 11:16 AM

Sounds like you will have an EPIC weekend! Do you have a way to get out on the water?

BraceYourself 08-19-2016 11:25 AM

I have some boating friends that are going to be there and they have boats. I'm so used to Key West and how that goes for us that I'm a little out of the program with this. Key West for 8 years straight and every year is awesome but the first was the best.

ben 08-19-2016 11:34 AM

If you can have a good time in key west you'll have a good time at loto, especially shootout weekend!

Most important, don't try to have all of your fun the first night:D

Nate5.0 08-19-2016 04:03 PM

They just called (Camden) and said we are up and available for our suite. So looks like a few cancelations are happening for any one else looking.

BUP 08-22-2016 12:43 PM

Anyone that I can hit up for info as I have a bunch of questions about the event along with a group of people plus 2 to 4 boats coming from long travels in 2017. Yes 2017 and need to start planning very soon for it. 10 to 12 years since I have been at LOTO.

Who knows the event and area very well for all arrangements during the complete Shootout days. Thank you.

Knot 4 Me 08-22-2016 02:24 PM

You'll love Camden. We stay there in June for the SOTPR. Shady Gators just a short walk in the same cove. Have fun!!!

BUP 08-22-2016 05:24 PM

How about the Sunset Inn Resort ? Any good ?? Also we will need a close by boat ramp that is in good working access

Run of the mill rental properties. They have a ramp on site.

I can give you recommendations on pretty much anything at LOTO. A lot depends on how many people and boats are coming.
My main factor would be staying somewhere centrally located by land and water to the events.
IMO, the best area for this is the 14mm-24mm on the Osage Beach side of the lake.

Don't know anything about Sunset Inn.
I would stay on the Osage Beach/Lake Ozark side of the lake. Much closer by land to everything
Its easiest to just use the ramp at Public Beach #2 and leave the trailers there for $5/day and can accommodate any size boat.

We live her most of the summer. Tons of events for the Shoot Out week. There are some homes with slips and lifts available depending on size and number of boats. What are you wanting as far as amenities? Budget?

BUP 08-23-2016 06:59 PM

6 people min to 10 people max. 2 to 4 boats will be with us. 1 boat going to be in the shootout and possible 2 more from are group that might enter. We will need a very usable boat ramp. One full week stay. Whats our best options. Cost wise we are open within reason comparible to other rates. Also we ready to book asap. We are that ready . Thank you. John

******** for the 2017 LOTO Shootout week **********

mike tkach 08-23-2016 07:14 PM

i stayed at the sunset inn once, nice place but the boat slips are narrow and the ramp is steep&not good for bigger[over 26] boats.

BUP 08-23-2016 08:10 PM

Thanks Mike -

IMPORTANT notice ----- this is for 2017 but need to make these arrangements asap. We will NOT be there for 2016 LOTO.

Griff 08-24-2016 01:51 AM

What do you mean by very usable boat ramp??? On site??? Are you planning on having to pull boats in and out??? What size boats???

Robin's Resort would probably be a good option for you. I've never stayed there, but know plenty of people who have. http://www.robinsresort.net/resort-layout.cfm
As long as you're not trying to stay at Camden on the Lake, you have plenty of time to book a place.

Holiday Shores is another option. They have a ramp, but it is small and tight and I wouldn't use it for anything over 25'.
They have plenty of docking and in a now wake cove at 17mm. All slips are 10' wide and 30' long.
Stayed there plenty of times. http://www.holidayshoresresort.com/

BDiggity 08-24-2016 08:43 AM

tan-tar-a has a ramp onsite also, but i dont know how easy it would be to get something 30+ in & out of there.
like griff said, PB2 is probably the best option.

Yep, that's where I always stay. Nice ramp on site, nice covered slips, and the road going down to the ramp is tight, but I am able to fit my Dominator down that road.

BUP 08-24-2016 01:43 PM

30 ft to 40 ft boats size range and pulling them out multiple times per day. So one lane only busy boat ramp not going to work and really not looking for some beat up dirt road leading to a crap boat ramp. Have a lot to do beside cleaning a dirt road off the boat(s) 5 times a day. Just saying cause I have not been to LOTO in 12 years and I know a lot has changed. Some good and possible a few spots bad. Also have no idea about theft in the area especially during a big week. Really want to avoid any road blocks and very long wait times during the whole week if all possible. Thanks for the help everyone. I will book very soon but blind about the current area.

DRAG 08-24-2016 02:10 PM

I have stayed at Towers at Parkview Bay in the past. It was nice and they had nice slips. It isn't close to a lot of the activities but it is close to the Friday night action at Dog Days, and it makes for a nice morning run to the shootout. There are 2 ramps right across the bridge that have plenty of parking and ramp for any size boat.

We just launch there and stay on my boat now. Wherever we end up for the night we just anchor and sleep there.
