When you have to call in with a sick kid
 

Unfortunately one of my children happened to come down with strep throat so I was the chosen parent to stay home. Since said child was still in really good spirits I decided to get going on a little project. Since I am rebuilding my motor and the stern drive is off so I decided I might as well paint it so everything looks good when it gets put back together.
First I used an old wheelie bar I had broke to make a stand for the drive. Just chopped off a couple of ends and grinded smooth.

Then just normal sanding and priming. I am trying to find a close match to the King Cobra metallic charcoal for the sterndrive.

Did not feel like I wasted a day

I knew that's what colleagues were doing when using the sick kid excuse!!
