I agree, the simple fact is that the little hometown built tooner ran a better number. Credit where credit is due.

The Cigarette might've beat the pontoon, but they forgot to pull up the planer boards and trolling sock.

If Cigarette had the slightest interest in saving weight when they built boats it would be faster. A heavy boat is not a better boat, plenty of advanced construction methods available and in use.
