Alternator question

Dumb question but on my triple engine Fountain do I really need the alternator on the center engine?

How many batteries you got, and how are they wired ?

Just two plus a stereo battery. I am gonna have to trace stuff out but I think it's fine.

If it ain't broke, leave it alone.

Not going to remove it. Spit an alternator belt off my center motor yesterday and nothing is open up here to get a new one. I think it's fine without it as the back two motors have alternators (not sure why it even has three on it). I will get a new belt on Tuesday.

It solely depends on how it's wired into the boat. Does each motor have it's own battery? Do you have switches to isolate the alternator to each battery? Are they common bus with no diode protection on them?

My biggest concern atm would be trying to recharge a battery through a small power feed somewhere else in the boat if everything is linked together at some point.
