Outerlimits Introducing Outboard-Powered SL 41 Sportboat

Get ready for a 100-mph Outerlimits powered by triple Mercury Racing 400R outboard engines, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...l-41-sportboat.

Jupiter Sunsation 09-12-2016 08:52 AM

This is going to be a huge homerun if Dan is right and it taps the door on 100 mph+!

Glad to see OL still setting the bar on new builds!

LAriverratt 09-12-2016 08:58 AM

be cool to see it in KW like they are shooting for!!

TBAG 09-12-2016 08:58 AM

Can't wait to see what it does.

Bad Ass TA WS6 09-12-2016 09:07 AM

That is going to be one cool looking boat that is for sure.

Nate5.0 09-12-2016 10:18 AM

Really liking the lines on that a LOT.

phragle 09-12-2016 10:27 AM

A strange thought I have had...with bigger ob's we have seen some decent sized boats go that way. We have also seen some folks get different boats because of kiddos etc... with all that space that used to house to big blower motors, couldnt you make an aft cabin for the kids etc?? Raise the hatch vertically with tent screen enclosure for fresh air and keep the bugs out etc....

BONDO10 09-12-2016 01:34 PM

This will be an interesting build to follow. What ever happened with OL Center Console??

recessISon 09-12-2016 01:42 PM

It's on its way

They built one to the specifications of a client in the Middle East, but it was not what they would like to see as their own final product. Comes with the territory of being a true custom builder.

So they're working on a second one.

The Huslter Talon cat has an aft cabin... [Edited to correct information]...

I think the biggest issue is liability namely with CO2 in an enclosure back there.
AT did build a 33 with outboards, and the 'engine compartment' was finished out as storage for the fenders, as it was a tender for a larger boat.

WARPARTY36 09-12-2016 03:06 PM

If it's the same hull as the other 41s will the COG be off or does the leverage of the outboards hanging off of the back offset the difference? Cool looking boat and I love the simplicity of my egg beaters.

How could you not like the " Jihad Package " , room for at least 72 virgins (Skanks)...

HustlerTech 09-12-2016 04:10 PM

Sydwayz,

The Fiore Family were never with Hustler when the molds were purchased from Talon back in 2000. The 377 always had an AFT cabin, however we just recently built a 25 Talon Outboard with an AFT cabin.

^LOL

I like the idea of a aft cabin, there has got to be a way to make it safe as look at inboard cruiser's..many have engine compartments next to the aft canin

budd 09-12-2016 08:31 PM

Any pics or renderings of the CC

............ U-N-D-E-R

with triple CRT outboards (500HP+ each) it will be O-V-E-R 100MPH

But this is still my number 1 boat of choice over any other boat (cat and deepV)

after you remove the bustle and the notch, I believe this boat has an effective hull length of only ==> 37.5 feet

the waters I boat in has ocean swells!

beauty!

Being a 41 OL, regardless of style of propulsion I would expect this to be a 500K range boat......similar to an elephant, if someone asked how much, I would respond "heavy!"

OVER, I'll bet closer to 110 than 100.

Nuke427 09-17-2016 07:25 PM

You know I don't know that I can give up the wicked sound of an excellently tuned big block, but.......the upkeep is soooo EXPENSIVE! I love the looks of this boat here. Can't wait to see one in person, in 7 years or so I may be able to afford one....that was built this year..

boomer 09-17-2016 09:03 PM

I saw in the classfied the Sonic 358 with outtboards as well, I guess everyone gets tired of hanigng over the back sit with your feet in the air to work on your motors.

To be fair, not many of the new OLs I've seen have had "big blocks" in the traditional sense in the last few years anyway, since a QC4V isn't technically a BBC....but I know what you're saying :)

Trading in turbo motors for blower motors....seems a bit backwards. lol

drpete3 09-20-2016 04:03 PM

Same boat w 700s was 116 mph. My question is what are the factors that will keep this boat from being the same? COG? Nonsurface drives? HP will be almost the same. 3 drives in the water? What else?

ICDEDPPL 09-20-2016 05:40 PM

Everything sounds great except a Waves and wheels interior.

Agreed.

Don't understand that partnership at all.........

ROADHOG 09-21-2016 06:38 AM

When talking to the future owner of this boat, I understood that he had assurances from Outerlimits that the boat would Run 100 MPH or more. Time will tell.

Wildman_grafix 09-21-2016 07:28 AM

^^^^^^ seems to me it should with 1200hp in a light hull. What will this weight when all said and done?
