But I can not stand " Ya' all and " Fixin" and " turn the lite ownnn " and Billy Bob

I've spent about 1/2 of every work day over the past 20 years on the phone with Texans. It still amazes me how many times some of them can use Ya'all in one sentence.

Example: When I spoke with Ya'll yesterday, Ya'll were fixin to get Ya'all's presentation ready for Ya'all's deal review tomorrow.

A true story when I first moved to Texas back in 1982 - At a phone company job site, met this guy about 6 ft 6 --- 350 lbs big freaking cowboy dude wearing complete full cowboy gear even with the spit bottle and skoal jammed packed in his mouth. Walks up to me and says "I hear you are the new Yankee in town " - spits in his bottle and says to me "my name is BJ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ " - I said really your name is BJ - he says "yes sir " then turns around walks away and on the back of his cowboy Jacket it says the word in very bright red letters -- TRIM. I about died laughing - yelled at him and said hey - Billy Jack - where I come from - you know what TRIM means right ? He turns around walks back to me and "says my name is BJ and TRIM means the same here Yankee ".

I met his wife months later she was 4 ft 8 about 90 lbs and rode horses. So he introduces me to his wife and says " this is that Yankee, honey I was telling you about that comes from New York ". Anyways they were good people became friends with both of them down the rode. Just funny how they talked and thought about outsiders especially back then, it was always Yankee this and Yankee that. I always said what is it with you people - "still fighting the Civil War and still mad you lost " Sometimes it was in fun, sometimes not.

I'm loading up the Harley and we're heading South to Cape Coral this Friday for the Winter, driving straight through, good thing my co-captain can drive pulling a small trailer.
