Hi!

Aaron Ciantar is the main man behind Chaudron if I am correct. I have been in contact with him re testing one in Malta.

I have followed Chaudron for some years. Especially since they are heavy into racing against Outerlimits, Fountains, etc offshore in The Mediterranean. They have won several races with their 40-42 footers.

They have been building high performance boats for many years. In the beginning smaller speed boats between 22-30 feet. They were very like, if not identical, to the UK built Phantom boats. I have a original Phantom 25 from1985, and their Chaudron 25 was 100% alike. However, the boat builder of Phantom ceased his production end of the 90-ties if I remember correct. Anyway, their new Chaudron PRO 25 has a new 2 step bottom (mine is straight V) and very fast. It runs 86 mph with a single Mercury 300XS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoWxf4d4zV8. http://www.chaudronpowerboats.com/

The all new SV27 seem to combine the design of bigger boats with the smaller Phantom like models. I especially like the narrow beam.

Great post, I always like learning about companies, on a side note, I see Chaudron is located in Malta. I could not recall exactly where Malta is located in the Mediterranean, so I clicked on the Location link on the Chaudron webpage you had provided. I would like to visit there someday; so I learned about European boats, I had a geography memory-refresher, and your post inspired me to consider visiting Malta....you had an inpact on my day, thank you.

Hi!

Thanks! Me too discovered Malta due to Chaudron. Holiday in the spring it will be 😎

Got a message today that the red boat with twins will be tested this weekend.

The white one is waiting for a side mounted steering set up. Top speed so far has been 85 mph. Estimated top speed is 88 mph. Not bad for a 27,5 feet hull and a single 400 hp engine.

I will ask if they will test twin 300xs 😀😀

Cheers Toffen

These look very nice. I really like the interior.

What are the switches on the steering column, pics 3 and 6?

HI

The switches on the steering column I presume are powertrim for each engine on the red boat, and for the white boat powertrim for the engine and adjustment of the hydraulic jackplate. I did the same when I had 2 x 2.5 EFI SS engines on mine, and as the white one now when running one engine. Enclosed picture of the Phantom, and some newly pictures of the white Chaudron interior. Nice!

I found the Chauldron on Youtube about a year back. They reminded me of your Phantom Toffen. I found the Twister and the Argo when Adam Mckeon posted videos of his Argo.. I'm now leaning towards the 25" Twister or Yuka. I'm looking forward to hearing the results of your new 400R Toffen.

Cheers to you T

Hi!

You have a point Bor :)

Below you will see Chaudron Pro 25 and its nearly identical to my Phantom 25. Especially hardcore Phantom owners been critizising Chaudron as a splash. That said its nearly 20 years ago the last Steve Baker Phantom was made. However, Chaudron Pro 25 has a new two stepped bottom, and approx 10 mph faster than my ol lady Phantom 25. So thats an achievement :)

Its no question about the build quality. I considered to buy a Pro 25 with the same design as my Phantom, put a 400R on it and run like hell down the Fjord. But I was recommended to look at the new SV27 - and this is my new boat I think. A little longer, still narrow beam. fast hull and a cabin. And nice design :)
