As for an I-8 vs a V-8 coming next for the bigger platform, I won't argue with you. With the target market being the big center console Vs, a narrower I-8 would allow the manufacturers to fit more motors on the back, which in turn sells more motors for Mercury. Makes better business sense to go with a narrow I-8. I can't wait to be back in Miami next week!

She also said it will be 13 months before the motors will ship out of Fon Du Lac. It's amazing they are that backlogged on orders for the 400Rs. I've known the larger platform was coming for over a year now, as Mercury Racing bought a very large casting machine out of Michigan at that time. There's only one reason they would have done that.......
