This can be done with media blasting, do a Google search in your area for dustless paint removal. There are companies that provide the service.

Liberal use of high explosives.

I just got done removing some from my gf's F13 Fantasy I'm are redoing.
I used Easy Off oven cleaner heavy duty in the yellow can. Sprayed it on and let it sit a minute or so and used a razor scraper to scrape it off, and repeat. Its gonna be a PITA any way you do it, unless you pay to have someone blast it like mentioned above. I could only get the Easy Off to work good if I used it in small areas at a time....say 18"x18" and depending on how many layers you may have to repeat it twice, I did anyway. Didnt seem to hurt the gel coat at all, which didnt matter b/c we're gonna paint it anyway. Good luck, I know what a pain it was to do a 13' boat, I cant imagine doing one the size youre working on. |

A local marina here had a special wand for their pressure washer. It ran sand and water at the same time. Took barnacles and bottom paint off quick and easy. I will see if I can find out who makes it.
