You mean boat costs in general. Hell, I paid $62K for my old Nordic 28 back in '02, now it's double that for a dopey lake boat...absurd, absolutely absurd. Wish my home value doubled in that time frame.

Younger boater's interests have changed.
CC's, toons and wakeboats take a huge percentage of the market.
High performance boats have always been dearer and selfish entertainers.
Mass production of high performance boats is finished so they're now renamed 'Custom' boats.
Anything 'custom' gives the manufacturer an opportunity to charge more for their work and take longer to do it.
If sales drop by half, they double the margin to make the same profit but they are 'artists' and want more profit..

End result is a price explosion. Boats like Cigarette are still one of the best boats available but they are no longer an achievable dream for many of us.
