So who on OSO has personally blueprinted the bottom of your boat?

The first one I did the transom corners sitting on 55 gallon drums and hanging on a A frame on the bow. Boat fully rigged. This one went from 67 to 71 mph. Second; Carrera was poorly rigged and ran 53 mph and would want to turn into a submarine and bow steer. Dismantled it, rebuilt and rigged. Ran the boat up too 67 mph. Then derigged it, flipped it on trailer and worked the bottom and regel. Then flip and rerig the boat again. Oh and trailered it upside down on the trailer. Let me see if I find the pics. Then ran 73 mph Its a lot easier to work when its upside down. But I do recommend to run the boat first and see its behavior and then work the bottom. A lot feel by the seat of your pants science

I have done two. One a Jaws 24 which rode on rails and picked up 4 mph, Second Carrera 8m that carved the water like a turkey dinner and ran 73 with twin 250 mercs with labbed 26 Bravos. So who has done it? How did you fill in low areas, did you sharpen the strakes. I know a few have done it, so I have read on OSO.

I had the strakes cut back and had the entire bottom redone eliminating a hook in the process.

Vintage Chromoly I have followed your thread since its commencement. The work you have done is superb. I think you are putting this in the Smithsonian not the water. That's a major compliment. I do have concerns of doing the bottom without running it first. But that's just me. Pantera's run very good and consistent and always built a great running hull. Take your time and enjoy the ride.

I have. Being an ex Customs boat with bottom paint at one time the bottom was very rough. Made necessary repairs, airfiled every inch of the bottom and made it true.

Next sprayed black gel to rid of scum lines and is currently waiting to be sanded and buffed. Going to gel up to the rubrail with white for durability and 'car paint' probably with imron rubrail up and on top
