The boat is the new "model" guys. The boat!

Not for me, but I can see the appeal. How is interest thus far from your standpoint?

I'm sure it is a quality piece and will live up to the company standards. That's what matters.

TylerBurich 11-30-2016 03:09 PM

How did you get 4 chicks to go boating with you? Lol... Looks great!

Nate5.0 11-30-2016 03:33 PM

I Love it, Totally what I would be looking for.

thirdchildhood 11-30-2016 04:11 PM

It will be interesting to see how this goes over with the CC gang. It's not for me either but I'd take it over a center console.

Interceptor 11-30-2016 05:24 PM

A split or walk through center console.

Superb the design with the split down the middle is one of if not the most favorite rides in the world. The twin extensions are so symmetrical. They just exude from the hull who's shape has been perfected with sensuality and style. The white and blue hues accentuate and encompass the beauty of the design's and invite to viewer to partake in its plushness. Although the ride I suspect to be a bit wet and ruff depending conditions: it recons many to go for a ride daily. Sign me up. I want to go first. Oh by the way the boat looks great to. How does it handle and range and top speed"

Matt Trulio 11-30-2016 05:45 PM

Congratulations, Pat. The photos in this thread do the boat a lot more justice than the ones we used for the story, https://speedonthewater.com/new-boat...ils-29-defiant (for those who may have missed it).

Good things are worth waiting for.

That is totally for me! I love it!

509 SC 11-30-2016 07:51 PM

I see Diane came along for the ride with the models, killjoy!:D

The walk thru transom is a welcomed feature for those tired of climbing over the engine hatch. Nice boat, but not for me.

Jamie77905 12-01-2016 05:58 AM

What's the price point? Can it be rigged with 400's instead of the 350's?

MonkeySea2 12-01-2016 07:13 AM

I like it! Something I'd go for

ghabeck 12-01-2016 09:10 AM

Next best thing if your not in the position to buy one is to have brother and his wife who did! We will see how she runs today- Pat delivering the goods. THE DEFIANT 1

Spec sheet says yes. Up to 800 hp. Since it runs 78 with the 350s the 400Rs should get it solidly into the 80s with only two OBs. Not bad!

stimleck 12-01-2016 03:07 PM

I think this type of design will lead the resurgence in performance v hulls, a traditional performance V has many compromises which effect family boating, this is great.

I've always wondered why bother with the gab between seating benches and why not do a full U?
Filler cushions or a table can turn it into a full lounge.

Great boat!

stimleck 12-01-2016 03:08 PM

oops just noticed thats a walk thru transom

Being a recent CC convert, I would say that this boat is a completely different animal than a CC. I think a big reason CC's are catching on is because people are tired of confined cockpits. I don't think this boat really addresses that issue. Like a traditional sport boat, the cockpit does not have much room to move around, it's just laid out different.

rak rua 12-02-2016 08:02 AM

CC's are usually wider beam and a much 'fuller' hull shape up front. That's where they get a lot of extra internal space over a narrow, fine entry sports boat. The trade off is probably in rough water capability. I would think a boat like the Defiant would outrun a similar size cc in the snot.

Swings and roundabouts....... My opinion, it looks like a great compromise, I'm an outboard fan and also love the lounge seating with walk thru transom.

Pat posted a while back, that this layout came from a lot of input from his son who has been a competitive wakeboarder for years. Pat probably has as much time (and family time) in a wakeboard boat as his Active Thunders. If you look at the layout of the boat, you will see a lot of similarities. This is a boat that is truly a crossover, and hell, it will even pull a wakeboarder; but I don't see him offering a tower option!

I sure hope so. Center consoles, aka fishing boats, serve another purpose.

Knocked it out of the park! Beautiful and functional!:ernaehrung004::ernaehrung004:

ttuton 12-04-2016 02:27 PM

Is there room to stand between the bolster and the lounge seats? If not I feel like that would be an awesome thing to add! Being able to stand up/lean on the lounge seats and hang on the back of the front bolsters.

jvcobra 12-05-2016 09:53 AM

It's cool but I can't image it would be a good rough water boat, bodies would be flying everywhere.
