Start at 3:15, shortly there after I smoke a Cig.

At the 4:30 mark I am playing with the tab and trim and hit 122 (32" props, 1.24 drives, 5200 rpm = 6% slip). 120mph is straight up on the center gauge. Was really just learning how to drive the boat here, after this day I straight edged the drives/tab then marked neutral on the indicators. I still had 900 rpm to go.

5:25 I launch the boat and zing the motors, then smoke another Cig, hit 120 again and then not worth watching after 6:00 mark.

4:45 start giving it a little. 10:30 I put the hammer down, 120mph+ burst. The first half is pretty lame.

Very fast and stable. Thanks for the propulsion info. I thought you had picked up some rocket boosters at NASA. Looks like a stable ride. Have fun

TorchLK 12-08-2016 10:23 AM

Very nice. I remember seeing this boat at Torch a few times this summer

Schweeng 12-08-2016 10:43 AM

yeah....smoking a cig is not hard in a Cat with twins....
But really??? all that water to your left and you blow by the guy (looks like less then a 100 feet) on his port...? I don't know.... seems to close for me. Maybe if your buddies trading passes ....but just to buzz them that hard??????

F-2 Speedy 12-08-2016 10:51 AM

Wow you went by a boat that didn't know you were coming , ya Id a little pi$$ed if you ran up on the inside of me that close.

SecondWind 12-08-2016 11:48 AM

Are you guys serious? That looks closer to a 100 yards to me. We mostly boat on smaller inland lakes and don't have room to get further away from boats than the distance shown on that video. Maybe I'm just not tuned into Great Lake boating etiquete but that looks like a safe distance to pass.

PigNaPoke 12-08-2016 12:19 PM

I had a reply typed out... never mind. it must be getting cold :lolhit:

100 yards my a$$. 100 feet is generous. Cameras make things look farther away than they really are. 50-75 feet separation is my best guess. Too close for my comfort level. These aren't idle speeds we are talking about. placing others at risk is NOT cool.

Interesting.... what's a 3/4 cam? They didn't have a whole one?

AZMIDLYF 12-08-2016 02:34 PM

Old School term for 3/4 inch lift...

OK, so basically 75% of a full race cam?

ALL_IN! 12-08-2016 03:12 PM

Video not showing up on my end. Where is it located?

Skater30 12-08-2016 05:27 PM

Get more seat time, and your comfort level will grow...not being a smart ass, but that is not an unusual pass. My $.02 opinion,

abones 12-08-2016 05:58 PM

Looks like a good pass to me! I've seen closer passes on some Tickfaw 200 videos, and have been in my boat on the Colorado River coming back from the sand bar running 4 wide at 100. it's all good!

Better not post up Snow machine videos! those trails get real tight!

I'm sorry, I disagree. Maybe not an unusual pass on a smaller inland lake, but on Erie with that much open space? You pull some sh1t like that on me and I don't know you then we're having a little chat if I ever catch you.

No reason to worry, there ain't any 24' Baja on this planet that is catching a 34' DCB in race :evilb: Just joking

PigNaPoke 12-08-2016 07:25 PM

Lol not very many cigarettes are either smarty. :party-smiley-004::poopoo:

It's cold.

TooLateVTEC 12-08-2016 07:34 PM

If that guy wasnt a buddy of yours that was a d!ck move dude, especially where it appears you had miles to pass with some distance between you.

If its a poker run/fun run its more acceptable b/c we are all more aware of the boats around us and sometimes we ride close to wave, take pics, etc.

Cool vids though, boat runs good.

mikesufka 12-08-2016 08:36 PM

Bad Ass boat Jeb. Just a few steps past that HST you had on the WhiteFish Chain - lol

That was Jordan Harris and we know each other well, he was veering harder left than I was, but we were both going left. Was it closer than I liked, yes, did it scare me or make me nervous, not the least. We were in a shipping lane you can see me pass the buoy on the left.

Hell my cruising speed is faster than Mikes top end, actually 10mph faster.

Drake22.250 12-09-2016 06:50 AM

Not in Big Waves, lol. Post a picture of your DCB, can't wait to see it running on Erie. They make some nice boats.
