Do you know if the boat sat in the water at your Marina or was it dry docked? My biggest concern with buying this boat (or any other boat for that matter), is I dont want to end up with something with a wet transom or stringers.
The boat was dry stacked.

My buddy was just there Saturday to pick up his 33 Outlaw (sitting next to the Fountain in the vid). Said he saw the boat but it was covered up.

Saw this boat for sale before present owner .with asking price of 45k. Owner claimed it was doing 74-76 with perfect conditions.I was interested in boat as well but new seller doesn't know much about the boat at all. With $55,000 price tag and boat not dialed in correctly I think it's not worth 55k and previous owner price was right for boat. The imor v-10 with 625hp weights 300 lbs less than a merc. And puts out at least another 100-125 hp. Boat should be in low 80's. Seen plenty of 29' fevers doing 75 with with stock motor. Gotta agree with vintage chromoly keep in mind a budget for modifications.

Thanks for the heads up, its appreciated.

I really wasn't planning on paying $59k for that boat, I saw that as quite high of an asking price for all the same reasons as you stated. Especially with the dealer offering little to no history on the boat its tough to command a high price.

It makes me nervous as well that the boat never got dialed in. 76 in perfect conditions seems pretty weak for the power IMO. I saw a thread from the original owner, Spinletto and it seemed like it was a constant struggle. Even had some of the industry experts work on it it seemed.

I call and emailed to get service/maintenance history and got nothing. Those ilmor v-10 require constant service. 25 hrs and every 50 hrs after. You would think they would be able to tell you something?

Let me rephrase that last post. Of course all motors need maintenance ilmor, merc. . My point being yes it is a really cool set up. As for being much more than a v8 "no" . I've seen 540's making 800 hp n/a. So ilmor v-10 in fountain cool yes. But don't think it's worth the money there asking at all. Costs alone on fixing that motor are gonna be much more than v8. Sure it makes more hp than a merc502. But honestly I don't think it's realistic. I was very interested in this boat. Till I did a
Little homework. Just doesn't add up. I would rather have stock v-8 and strap a blower on, and blow by that v-10. As for the boat it self, it is one of the cleanest 29' fevers out there for sale

I really think that boat dealer is willing to hold on to that boat till spring. And not wiggle at all on the price. In alll honesty, it makes me sick to see boat dealer purchase a boat for $45,000 or less and turn around and offer it for sale at.$ 59,000

I have no problem with dealers or customers making money on a boat I'm buying. Everyone has a right to make a living. Just remember If people don't make money they go out of business. If there wasn't mark-up there would be no businesses. You couldn't get gas, food or a place to live. Does it make you sick to buy gas? food? hotel? How about your smart phone? They cost less then $100 bucks to make and you paid $600 or more. You may have signed a contract to get it for free but someone got the $600. Dealers have to ask more then what they paid for it. It is up to you as a buyer to try to make a deal. You can offer less. You might have a trade in? Gas stations, Grocery stores and fast food joints don't take trade-ins or best offers. I don't know what you do for a living? If you work for free you won't be buying a boat.
