I'd go with Teak paddles. .Pine is probably ok for a spare set, as long as you treat them with Thompsons water seal.

All right you f uckers...
I think I`ve found a nice compromise... 5 bolsters and a bench, reliable 500EFI, trailerable...still store at my house... need to come down about 30K first thou :evilb: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...6ec-102901342/ |
15,000lb cigarette 15,000lb formula 15,000lb black thunder. Sounds like you have an obsession for heavy girls...

Pretty Cocky thinking you can handle a Canoe after just a few years of experience hotrodding that Flatdeck.
Thinking a year with a standup paddle board and than maybe after that attend a Advanced Canoe Handeling course . The insurance is still going to kill you with your minimal experience. Should probably look at getting into SAILING.:evilb: P.s. With proper care I think the CMI headers that come on a Merc 525 should last a good 20 years. |

Can't believe I left out yanmar! I agree on the yanmar vs Cummins, or even Man. You think merc rebuilds are expensive?? Price a man 1000 hour service lol
The Detroits it seems like they had a hard enough time keeping them alive in busses and coaches. So they cranked them up and jammed them in big sport fishers lol. I have a customer with a pair of 550 hp 6-92's. When I called for a set of injectors the parts guy said "trying to melt that down before the weekend??" 2200 hours and the boat has had 4 major overhauls (by others not me) https://youtu.be/qXDaWTV0orY |
Covington's. Twin turbo, supercharged. They do sound cool, and run up pretty good. But they have been maintenance whores.

500efi with an SCX would be the ticket for reliability.
Drive guardian could be a good solution too. |
