I sold my 35' Cigarette and bought a Formula 400SS with 525s thinking that it would be a good compromise and it wasn't ,
the Formula is a great boat and we had a lot of fun, but trailering it was such a pain the ass, i towed it with an F450 and that was not fun, behind the Sportchassis was no problem and with a Peterbilt no biggie.
the biggest issue was just getting it ready to trailer ( take the radar off the lights off, putting flags and banners on ) it just took time wasn't difficult. but figure an hour at least to put it on and take it ff the trailer.
having the Formula in the water and just getting on it is the hot ticket but don't expect to have the feeling like your in a performance boat.
i ended up buying another Cig and having both boats is the hot ticket except that you now have 4 525 motors to deal with and 4 sets of headers to worry about.

Formula has it at 15, 000 dry plus trailer and gear, seems like it would be quite a load?

Anyone with any experience?

Based on the paint scheme I'm guessing the rig is between 2003 - 2005 which should be 10'-6" wide (believe the 2007 model shifting to 10'-9") and 14,400 dry. Consider adding 1500 - 2500 lbs based on fuel/gear load... My 04 scaled at 15,900 lbs with 33% fuel, 75% water and 20% waste with all gear in the boat so right at 1500 above dry. As mentioned already get the permits/flag/signs ready... I would say its not bad just take your time and make sure those brakes are healthy.

3. Be able to tow it to a new destination couple times a year

How big does a garage door have to be to get a 370 in on a trailer?

I ask because with 10' doors I could barely get my 24' CC in because of the Bimini arch. At 40+ OAL and with that arch and freeboard, I'd be getting ready to feel the burn and pay the marina for everything.

You may be surprised how pleasant it is to get rid of monster tow trucks, trailers and be in a well. Hire a yard to launch and haul it start and end of season.

My 400SS IS 13'-3" on the trailer with the radar, spotlight and satellite tv removed

Dan, the wide load isn't a problem. Give the cruiser a try and if it doesn't work out, there is always a go fast for sale. Doug

Pretty sad this is the 1st time I've ever seen your newer tow rig.

Yep. You should go boating with me. Although it is not a Skater so it's not to you standards.
