battery location

Im thinking of different locations of battery placement on my cobra cat project.I hear these boats are a little light in the nose with twin set ups so I thought of placing them up front some where. First thought was to place them up under the deck which I heard works well. Second thought was that I have alot of room under the dash in front of the driver and passengers legs.I was thinking of making fiberglass battery box covers with foot rest wedges and batt switches at cabin enter. A little worried about battery leaks or explosion. Any body have any thoughts or ideas. Thanks Keith

Yea if you are going to put them up front get the new sealed batteries.

Keep in mind even the sealed batteries can explode. but the completey sealed batteries are nice because they can be mounted in any position.

If you mount them up forward, don't forget to use the proper size cables. I'd be looking for some "0" or "00" cable to run.

Thanks for input guys. Iggy, Do you think 01 is ok? We use it all the time on heavy equipment with diesels and about a 20' run from batt to starter. But the engines are 4 cyl diesels, what do you think?
