Philly /CD canal run 1 more time.
 

Anyone in the Philly area want to try to meet up this weekend weather permitting. I figure we can take a blast to the C/D canal. We can meet up around Penns landing Sat or Sun which ever is suppose ( suppose ) to be the nicer of the 2 days? Oct 12/13th anyone? anyone? anyone? :D :D

I could do it on Sunday. It looks like the better day weather wise.
The only problem I see is that I only have 23ft boat (including swim platform) and depending on Sunday traffic wouldn’t be able to run with bigger boats. I don’t have a problem running 45 to 60 mph for long runs. It all depends on conditions.

What types of speeds would you like to maintain?

I'm up for another run. I put in at the Neshaminy State park. I could go either day. Let me know!

Considering My boat only does 68 mph I would expect to run down at like 45-50 mph? I guess we can wait n see what the weather man calls for ? I 'm up for a run though, end of summer blast.

What part of Philly do you live? I grow up in northeast Philly, Frankford & Cottman Avenue area. Saturday nights were spent cursing Roosevelt mall picking up girls. Before your time! Met a Jerseys girl, got married and moved to Hainesport NJ. Single again!

I spend a week this summer boating on the top of the Chesapeake Bay, Havre De Grace MD. There’s a sensation dealer down their Extreme offshore. Nice boats!!

How old are you ? I live around there. always did since 1971. went to Lincoln high school class or 89. I put in at frankford arsenal ramp just by Tacony bridge.

Is the Linden ave ramp still open. Used that ramp along time ago with relatives that live up there. The Arsenal ramp is pretty steep if I remember. Linden ave was not as steep. Might be heading up there this month to run.

yes both are still open, but I think you have the 2 confused. The Linden ave ramp is too steep. I pull a loaded 28 sunsation with a 2wd pick up no problem at arsenal. I almost lost truck n trailer at linden ave.:D

The weather for Sunday looks good enough for me (69-71 with pm Sun). If this holds true I'll be boating.
I put in at Burlington city public ramp just north of the Burlington-Bristol Bridge. I usually run anywhere from Trenton (north) to Penn’s landing (south).

Cap, Are you going down the C&D or just to it? We may be around on sunday. Look for a 25 AT blue and purple graphics. Would post a picture but I'm online at work and noner of my pictures are on this one. Maybe we'll see ya:D

AOL weather says Sunday - Sunny/ mixed with some clouds , dry around 75. It is starting to sound good for Sunday!

We keep the boat at Tomes Marina Hi&Dri on the susquehanna. Port Deposit, Md. to be exact

Spent a week this summer boating the upper chesapeake. We rented cabins at susquehanna state park. We put in at a marnie in Havre De Grace MD. (I forget the name). Spent most days archored off of some small islands just south of their. Great sand beach!!

Nice area isn't it! Did you go to Jellyfish Joels or Red Eyes? If you make it down next year e-mail us and we'll give you the tour!:D How were the cabins? How much? Sounds like something my daughter might like. ;)

It's 9:30 am Sunday morning. Sitting here looking at High dollar speed boats on a web site ahhhhhh to wish. If it is nice next weekend count me in. bcoffield - Shhh! Don't tell everybody about that area, or it will get too crowded. My boat is at the same marina as RAddiction, and we love that area. Since I'll be back in town next weekend, you can count us in if the weather holds out. (I'm thinking about going to Annapolis on Saturday for the show....)
