OT: Presidents speech

I didn't get to see it last night, was busy and by the time I finished, so was he. But heard on the radio on the way in that the ABC, CBS and NBC didn't carry it.
Wonder why?
This wasn't some fund raiser speech, he was talking to the nation about Iraq. All the other networks carried it, why didn't they?

Did anyone else hear this?

Offshore Addiction 10-08-2002 06:41 AM

yes,he made alot of good points.....and gave alot of dead lines for action....I do understand about cleaning these mad men out.....but dont beleive in the rebuilding afterwards......we have our own nation to build, and our own people to take care of.....we stopped that kind of crap on our homeland years ago,its time that they do,we shouldnt have to stop it for them...only for us!!!!!!

Reindl Powerboats 10-08-2002 06:44 AM

It was never intended to be televised on those stations. Besides why would the liberal stations televise anything Conservative and proactive for our country before and election year. They must build momentum for their side.

All kidding aside, it was a good speech. He discussed all the reasons Iraq was a threat and how they have done nothing they agreed to post Persian Gulf War. AP printed it completely in their reports this morning if you are looking for it.

Shane 10-08-2002 07:48 AM

I listened to it on NPR in the truck. The man cannot speak well but is a GREAT President. This morning on TODAY the LIBERAL Katie Couric interviewed a former U.N. Weapons Inspector who put it VERY WELL! He said that Saddam's condition of not inspecting Presidential Locations, not just his palaces would be off limits. This totals about 75 square KM or 50+ square miles of territory. You can house a LOT of weapons in that size area! We are right back where we were 4 years ago. The time to act is NOW! I also agree with Chris Reindl, no rebuilding. If they don't build themselves back with decent leaders we will take 'em out again. It is time to stop this bull****. Then you hear these liberal politicians (Senator Kennedy is the worst!)talk about how we need to exhaust all means necessary first. WE HAVE TRIED FOR 10 YEARS ALREADY! Time is up, NOW is the time for ACTION!

WesSmith 10-08-2002 07:55 AM

Shane ,

I couldn't agree more.

Now , we can rebuild but get to keep the oil fields as payment for services rendered !:D :D

Shane 10-08-2002 08:05 AM

Wes,

EXACTLY! And maybe then the Saudi's will show a little more respect to the people who FOUND their oil, TAPPED their oil, SHOWED them how to find and harvest it, and BUY it!

Shorty 10-08-2002 08:56 AM

I am so sick of our gov't always wanting to rebuild these pos countries!  Who's going to rebuild our economy?? Individual American's savings have been wiped out by all this crap that's affected the economy. Individual hard working Americans losing 20k, 50k, even 100k in 401k plans and company stock savings. Layoffs, bankruptcy, just general economic chaos. Give that money back to hard working Americans!!!

Mr Bush Senior, I know you are a huge powerboat fan and if you are lurking, put in a word for us! Take care of our own first!

Any building we do over there, is prisons. We can send our hardened criminals over there instead of letting them out early.

Cord 10-08-2002 10:01 AM

We didn't rebuild Germany after WW1 and who moved in, set up shop and started WWII? That's why you rebuild the country. Because it's in shambles and ripe picking for the next piece of scum.

Offshore Addiction 10-08-2002 10:18 AM

but remember cord,we didn't have missles that could take idiots like that out in WWII,NOW WE DO.....

Helping rebuild a countries government is one thing but rebuilding the cities and economy is another matter.
I don't like our money being spent overseas when we have needs here.
Kind of like the welfare system, why shoud they work and take care of themselves when some one else will protect them and they get payed for doing nothing.
I'd like to see how much of our tax dollars goes overseas. I'll bet it's a good percentage.

Go in, anhialate, take over, make it a U.S. Territory and control the place and we have solved MULTIPLE problems. We now have OIL CHEAP!

[QUOTE]Individual hard working Americans losing 20k, 50k, even 100k in 401k plans and company stock savings.

The bad thing about most of this is it was taken by thier own bosses we should send those bastards there to rebuild thier country they done a nice job destroying the lives of many americans.

while on the subj: John walker linhd your prison sentence to get dropped off at the iraq border and fend for yourself, no food, roof over your head by the taxpayers for the next 20 years.

speaking of which any foriegn national in jail you get a free ride to live free in iraq or afganistan so as not to be a burden on the us taxpayer and honest hard working people of america.

Gearhead99 10-08-2002 06:09 PM

Lets Roll !!!!!!!!!

And we ain't rebuilding nothing !!!!!!!

Steve 1 10-08-2002 06:51 PM

We should not have to rebuild anything! First off Aside of the considerable Oil wealth, Iraq is blessed with ample Water in an area that is Arid; (Sahara Belt)They grow or used to grow a Yellow Rice that is prized in the Arab world and brings a lot of Money ,Also the Iraqi Dates are the Best in the Area.

Iraq can rebuild itself very easy. This is not Afghanistan by any stretch of the Imagination!

Now for the Liberal, Socialist and Communist Democrats saying that Bush Senior left this that is untrue we had a UN Mandate to expel Iraq from Kuwait and nothing more during the Gulf War!

masi242 10-08-2002 08:29 PM

steve, you are right senior had his hands tied. I have a great idea, give Teddy and Saddam a bottle of skotch and let Teddy drive him around.:D :D

fountainhead 10-08-2002 08:39 PM

right wing buddies

Boy it is good to see so many right-minded, right wing Americans. It is a lonely time for the conservatives. It is a sad time when you are looking at leaders like Dashole to lead your party.

Procrastination will see a lot more Americans die. We lost more Americans in one day on 9/11 than we ever thought about in the Gulf War. Cowards like Saddam thrive on dissension like we have between our government. Lets just ignore him. I bet he will just go away, yea right! I cannot stand how the left wants to see evidence. Lets recognize who we are dealing with and take care of business once in for all. I do not think the Middle East is ready for democracy but a change in government is a must for our nations safety.
