Default Special Lube 101

We just received a large production run of Special Lube 101 Grease in squeeze tubes just like it used to come from Merc.

The people spoke, and we listened, and we bought a ton of grease!

Call the shop to order. Quantity discounts available! Spread the word!

And what does this 101 grease ? Prop splines? Gimball bearing? Couplers? Anything else? All of them?

Yes its water resistant with teflon so prop splines, o-rings, water pumps, you can put it on pizza, etc.

Its good for a lot of things. At the same time it cleans up easy and doesn't stink.... Many people seem to want it.

I have typically used 101 for most anything. Recently was told specifically not to use it on input shaft/coupler splines? Any truth to this.

Not sure to be honest. On your typical bravo aluminum coupler we use "coupler spline grease". On steel tailstocks like a #6 we will use 101. Not necessarily a strict rule, but thats the general application.

I don't think 101 is high temp rated, but nothing greased in a boat really builds temp like wheel bearings / brakes / CV's. I would be interested in the rationale of why not.
