Default X Drive?

Saw a boat for sale with x drives. Went to the website and seems like a great upgrade over the Bravo. Also not as parasitic as an IMCO. Anybody know about real world experience
with these drives ?

Brain fart. Yep. X Power Drive. They're power handling numbers are impressive. Suppose easy to ask them, but I'm
curious if their cost is equally as impressive. Also maintenance, parts, etc.

You here about IMCO's all the time. I want to say $26,000 is the number that sticks in my head for an SCX. I also here of the parasitic
loss with them also. Curious why X Power for a little more wouldn't be a better choice if its faster? It's only money.

Was the maintenance a bigger hassle or more costly than for a Bravo? The reason for all of this is I would like to Whipplize my 525.
I've been reading the pros/cons of Bravo, IMCO, Arneson, etc. Now these guys got my attention like saying "Squirrel" ! Seems, except for cost, like a
reasonable option. Just looking for real world input from people in the know.

When people talk about X drive I always thought they were talking about the Merc X drive as in XZ gears which were the helo cut gears that were faster but less durable than the XR gear that Merc makes. Is this something different? Is this a Merc product ?

-10k from your 26k for the scx, so about half the price of an X drive
