dont know if many of you know this but in addition to glass work and graphics i also do classic restorations and custom build street rods. this is a 1947 Buick Super estate wagon that i spent 2 years restoring for a customer . it is the 4th one of these Buicks that i've done and i have a 1948 Buick Roadmaster estate wagon ( one of 6 known to exist) coming in right behind it. we are doing these for the 100 year aniversery of Buick in flint next summer.  . . fun stuff . . .

Looks great!! |
steve - im not really sure what this wagon is worth maybe about 50/55K in a good market the roadmaster could get maybe 75/80 , never really seen one go through an auction. the owner of these particular wagons has a 6000 sq foot garage and about 15 cars. ranging from a pair of 1910 & 1911 cadillacs,1941 cadillac conv. a 1934 lincoln touring. couple of model A's an T's for fun. a 1936 worlds fair dual cowl chrysler conv. a 1947 town an country conv. a 1948 Buick roadmaster conv. and a hand full of other cars . all of which i maintain and as an extra bonus i git ta drive em too :D . these cars are all restored to a concourse level and driven regularly. no trailer queens, we build to be driven and toured. the guy is a great customer to have.

That straight-8 brings back memories of my brother's 52 Buick Super. Cool car! I saw a 49 (I think) at a recent rod run that was done up in jet black with some really nice 18" Boyds on it. It really looked cool set up like that. Rest of the car was basically stock.

Great job, Dave.
I've always loved those cars. |
