Sure would suck getting outrun by an electric boat!

Interesting, no valves to worry about!

He needs more practice welding on Alum. I wouldn't trust that motor mount

My dad has always had nice bassboats and when I was a teen he had an extra trolling motor laying around. It was a 48lb thrust, 24V unit for a 21ft bass boat. I built a small platform to mount it on a 12ft flat bottom jon boat we had. It took (2) 12V deep cycle batteries to power it. We ended up having the take the seats out of it because you needed to be sitting low in that thing to keep from being thrown out. One of our first times out on a pond we encountered some guys in a little 2-3 hp gas powered jon boat........and passed them while putting out a wake!

30-45 minute operating time at full throttle. If your boat won't go 54mph, make sure the racecourse is longer than 40 miles and they're DNF.

Man that is awesome! I can't wait to see how this tech progresses :drink:

And how does one prevent this from happening if the boat starts sinking or taking on water? https://youtu.be/bNMfe20I_IE |

Soooooo? Who is going to be the first to hook up a Tesla motor in a V bottom?

I like/love the idea of running half a day (or all day) on a few bucks worth of electricity, but after letting the smoke out of some ESCs and bloating some Li-ion batteries on my fast electric R/C boat, I'm pretty sure I don't want my junk 6" above a bunch of Li-ion cells without some SERIOUS flame retardant between the two.... and all the electronics on my R/C are water-jacketed, not air cooled.
