Installing Bollster Seats
When installing bollster seats. What is the rule for how to measure the distance to the steering wheel? I have pedastal seats now. The bollsters are free standing, going into a 23' Formula. Thanks!

There shouldn't be any rules. I'd install them at the most comfortable position for ME to operate the boat. A smaller guy will probably want the seats closer to the helm than a big guy so it really should be up to the owner. Hopefully there'll be enough room for rear seat passengers to stand up behind them.

I did exactly what RR said. I put them back in the boat where I wanted them to be.
I'm not a big guy and when I sit down in the boat everything is nice and tight. I didn't want to be reaching all over the place for the wheel or controls. |
thanks guys. I didn't think there were any " rules of thumb" but didn't want to mess it up either.

Make sure that you "through bolt" them and use some sort of a backing "sister" plate and not just wood screw them to the floor. Make sure to seal the holes so water can't get in to rot the floor.

Make sure that you use good quality stainless hardware as well.
