When it comes to a coast, don't buy boats very often (hardly ever) but if I look again I would stay away from both coast. A coast boat means salt water, look inland and have it hauled over. Haul bill is not that much and there is always getting it your self.
Edit: would also say don't buy new, with new you have smog stuff to deal with

And like it or not, performance-oriented center consoles are all over this site as well as owned by—and of interest to—many members of this community. The market has changed.

Approximately $85,000 (still working on what engine package that would include ... it's Friday night so there aren't a lot folks to bother).
In terms of useful features, performance and build quality, I believe twin
What does a new Baja 25/26 Outlaw go for new now? Since they are still considered entry level. I look at the Outlaw like that sports car that was basically stripped down but could get you in the game. Now that all seems out of reach anymore.

At least I'm not the only one who see's the pricing of most luxury items going through the roof.
In 2008 I bought a tricked out low mileage 2004 Z71 Tahoe for $17,500. I've been looking high and low for another Tahoe/Denali for months. New you're going to pay 60-70K and the used market is 40K+ with high mileage (4 year old vehicles). That's just using SUVs as one example. A new F250 Platinum stickers at 78K. A Plan is 68K. Buying a new truck every 3 years no longer makes any sense and not to say it ever did but they've price them through the roof.
New boats make my head spin. From time to time I think about making a move but every time I do I have an impossible time justifying the numbers. For now, I'm grateful I have what I do.

And I'm taking my excellent condition 2008 F250 into the body shop next week to keep it mint. It's been paid off for years, looks and runs great and will get the royal treatment to keep it that way. No way I'm dropping $65,000 for one of those sh!tboxes either. I have one more debt to pay off thanks to our gov't and wall street from the '08 debacle and I'm back into saving for a boat. I know what I'm going to get tagged with but I'm in, it'll be a keeper for a loooong time.

No disrespect taken, but the question in the subject line says "new boat." A Yamaha SX 240 is far, far from an offshore boat, that's for sure. But so is a 25-foot Baja.

My b-law priced out of Tahoe this year, $75k. What a joke. I'd drive around in the Flintstones car before I dropped just south of a $100 for that hunk.

You are more apt to find a low volume producer that can take a buyers budget and build something custom that fits. I would think for under $100,000 there are some nicely built single engine performance boats still out there that can run 70+ with a Merc 8.2 HO. Sutphen, Archer, Tuff, Superboat is where I would start.
