QX4 not intended to be a towing vehicle or an offroader. As long as those parameters are known, it is an exceptionally pleasant riding 4x4 and they are very reliable (some we have dealt with have had sensor issues that caused errant computer codes but otherwise solid). Older ones underpowered. Clearcoat on rims doesn't hold up well.
Also, people with oily skin will notice that the words and symbols on some buttons and switches wears off too easily...

great vehicle
I have one, it is a year old this month...never a problem. Nice inside, relatively quick ( i was surpised!), and sure is alot better than the high maintenence car prior..
The Nissan Pathfinder is basically the same SUV, but for about the same price the QX4 has more soundproofing, smother ride, and some luxury additions inside. I highly recommend it.

Got Boat? is correct. I have a Pathfinder LE which is the same vehicle with less frills (costs about $4000 less). The 3.5 is a great motor. Usually ends up on Motor Trends 10 best powerplants list. From what I understand, it is the same basic motor that the G35, Maxima, Altima 3.5, etc. with different tuning. I have never been happy with the rear suspension (too soft on the Pathfinder LE-lots of bottoming out with folks in the rear seat) and the brakes (they seem to warp awfully easily and very quickly). I do not think you can buy a more reliable car (relatively speaking) than a Nissan/Infinity. The X5 on the other hand.........
