Single Engine 290 Powerquest Enticer. FOUND
We are the 3rd owner of the singe engine 290 enticer. It has at least 2 different engines in the boat. The latest engine has a 554 Chevy Big Block. Pushes 650-700HP. 75MPH. She's no pig. I saw a thread relating our boat that was posted in 2005. I thought I would create a new one. First off, the factory did NOT want to make this boat as they thought it would have zero get up and go. Little did they know. This boat is more then likely one of the fastest 290s on the water. Unless someone of course put twin blowers in their boat haha. Please ask any questions. I will answer.

Mmmmm, pics!!!!! Would love to see how it sits in the water with less weight in the stern.

I have a hallett 290s with 600sci stage 3 whipple upgrade about 770hp. family off 5 and dog upper 80s all day low 90s with a perfect chop and we pull a tube and ski. there are a lot of fast 28-30 foot boats out there
We tried tubing once. A little loud I'd say.
What are you guys running for drives? I couldn't keep a Bravo XR drive alive for very long on a 26 cat w/ 800HP. Also used as a family truckster (tubing, skiiing etc).
bravo xr keep the prop in the water and just roll throttle on take off. I use amsoil severe gear lube every 25 hours
^^ roll throttle is key. Running a factory bravo 1. Haven't had funds to put a xr in. It really needs a m6 but $$$$

That's certainly nothing to write home about. The 30 Superboat (32' LOA) I had with a stock 525efi ran a hair below 80.
30 superboat will fit inside of the two boats above and is 1500lbs plus lighter no comparison and is no family boat

OK, guys, don't get your knickers in a twist. Point is, why bother with the care and feeding of 700 HP, broken drives, etc. to go 75 MPH. BTW, My family LOVED our Superboat, and with only 525HP, we didn't get passed too often. :-)
lol, for a 290 powerquest we are doing great. The engine has over 500hrs on it with zero rebuilds. One of the fastest 290s. And has cabin, beach supplies, etc. Engine was built for durability, not speed. Anything else you have to say Dave?
And it's a Powerquest too. They are heavy. Not built for that type of speed either. Factory only offered 454s, 496, 502s. Nothing special.
that 29 sounds real nice. i had to look twice when i saw the 290 on the side & it was a single.

Was it blue, white, teal, pink? If so it was us. What boat do you own?

Yes, we are at the wharf. Actually taking it out today for the first time this year. There is only 1 single 290 and that would be this one.
