3 Attachment(s)
Hi!
New summer new projects New 400R. Currently working on the propheight. We will mount the engine so we have it 2 inches above the bottom with the jackplate all way up. See picture. Wot will have the propshaft even and cruise 3 inches below. Will also add a 5mm aluplate between the transom and jackplate. New interior: Thanks to Trond and Nils at Nor-Tech I will soon receive a new interior influenced by Shelby. Here are the front seats. Boat will be cleaned up and waxed properly for test early June. Can not wait! Cheers Toffen |
OMG! That engine looks huge on that boat. Awesome! Nils and Trond are first class, interior looks great.

Decided to stick with what you knew. Look forward to seeing how she runs.

Hi!
Engine mounted, calibrated and ready to run. Waiting for the seats, and some polish - and off we go :) Cheeers, Toffen |
You run a ballast tank?

The mid-range exceleration of that boat should be a blast!

Boat looks great. Out of curiosity, why not paint the lower unit black to match the rest of the outboard ?

Hi!
The boat is rigged with a 150 litre ballast tank which I use often. It changes alot when its heavy seas, especially with a 303 kg Verado on the transom. That said, Phantom 25 was made for twin application. The standard set up was twin XR2 back in the 80-ties. Speaking about acceleration; I had a twin Merc 2.5 EFI SS package on the boat between 2006-2011. The engines had Brucato ECU boxes, etc etc. The acceleration on plane up to WOT was just insane. The boat jumped on plane i 1 (one second) and accelerated from 50-80 mph in less than 3 seconds. Verado 350 Sci which I bought accelerated better than my Promax 300 SVS (1999-2006). So I expect the 400R to be quicker :) Especially when you prop it for 7,000 rpms which is needed to get full HP. I will post some figures when I have tested the boat. I was thinking about it today how much faster the new boats are running. A Tuff 24 runs 98 mph with a single Evinrude G2 250 HO. Its amazing. With the same horsepower mine will run max 70 mph.... However, the ol lady Phantom was originally made for offshore around Britain.... Se enclosed original brochure. So two different animals :) Cheeers, Toffen |
