Rockauto bs

First time I ever ordered anything off Rock Auto and prob my last. So I order 3 of the same items that was to have 3 parts in each one of the boxes. 1 box had all 3 parts in it, one box had 2 parts out of 3 in it and the last box had 1 part in it of 3 so missing 2 parts. The boxes looked like something that came out of someones dusty garage and all creased up at that. Like very old stock, junk chit sitting around. Anyways how in the hell does anyone get ahold of them to file a complaint. Even online I can not find anything but a return parts BS. I do not have time to return their chit period back to them. Anyways what junk they set me as even one of the main parts mounting flange had a huge gouge in it. Like they are selling the crap that did not pass QC from the manu.

I've used them quite a bit for a DIY're and have had very good service and parts. I usually pick a brand name in my selections. Sorry about your experiences.

Have order items from them before without an issue. Never had to return anything, and boxes were all good. There is a area to report a problem by email but never used it. The BBB list them as A+

I've only ordered brakes from them. Never had an issue.

ICDEDPPL 05-25-2017 07:46 AM

No issues here, plugs for the boat at half the price.

Sydwayz 05-25-2017 08:39 AM

I've had great luck with RockAuto for quite a few years.

Ryan00TJ 05-25-2017 08:55 AM

I used them for the first time a couple months ago. Awesome price on a Moog front suspension rebuild kit vs local auto stores. Everything was well packed and arrived quickly. Get ahold of them and they should take care of you.

If I don't need something RFN, rockauto always gets my business. Always had good experiences with them.

camptappakeg69 05-25-2017 12:07 PM

I have used them quite a bit, always good service but I don't buy the cheapest no-name parts, always try to pick and choose well known manufacturer.

BUP 05-25-2017 01:45 PM

I would think Delphi would be considered a top well name brand - anyone disagree or agree ?

As I reported what I got was missing parts and a very poor mounting flange on one of the main parts. Dusty boxes and 2 boxes with corners and mid sections creased all in. BAD experience if one was to ask me.

Totally agree.

camptappakeg69 05-25-2017 02:17 PM

Guess I have been lucky with them, better play the lotto...lol

Didn't mean you bought cheap no name chit, Bup.

Interceptor 05-25-2017 04:43 PM

I'll take my local NAPA over the rest.

Padraig 05-25-2017 05:19 PM

Only use them once. Purchased a pair of struts and springs for the old Suburban. Price was good, shipping fast and parts looked good.

Have used them on several occasions, nothing but good luck, quality parts available at a decent savings

Some of the 50 or so magnets they have sent me. Choose the oem parts when available, accept there is no phone based customer service. Enjoy the discounts.

apollard 05-26-2017 07:32 AM

Order parts from them 3-4 times per year. Hos one time the wrong thermostat was sent for a BMW. They sent the correct one next day with a shipping label. Since they ship from so many different warehouses, I can see the potential for problems, though.

Unlimited jd 05-26-2017 07:40 AM

Idk I have had good luck with them. Bought at least 10 sets of brakes, pads rotors etc, shocks, sway bar links, gasket sets. No issues. I bought 3 sets of fel pro 8.1 intake gaskets for $30 ea. Call napa and see how much those are.
Then again I haven't had issues with db electric either. Guess I'll go play the lottery also.

To be honest, I've been burned by the local parts stores more often than rockauto. Being sold the wrong parts...and it's hard to check if the stuff is right if you aren't holding the old one in your hand at the moment.

That's when I gave them a try, after my local napa charged me for shipping on top of parts price for brake parts, only to find broken, damaged brackets

That sucks.

I am an hour drive, round trip from the nearest Oreilly/Autozone/Advance Auto, so when I get the wrong parts, and I don't figure it out until I'm home and balls deep in a project.....well, it makes my blood boil.

return everything and re-order when you have a problem. Actually I usually re-order then use the new boxes to ship the returns.

Same here, have probably placed 100 orders through Rock Auto. Never an issue. Shop most stuff and it ends up being almost half what it is local.

Just ordered a few hundred bux worth of brake hardware this morning. Way cheaper than the LPS.

Wobble 05-31-2017 12:31 PM

The cool thing about Rock Auto is that you can buy oem branded parts like a Delco power brake booster or steering box, try and find one at your local O'Really's or Chinazone, Napa is better but their store to store warranty sucks, as some franchises will not warranty company owned store parts. ( on a $200 4 month old alternator they told me I would have to buy another and take the original back to the company store) F'em.
