The MODS have been using this on an alternate site for a few weeks. I'm not a fan of most change either but like all past versions here I'll get used to it and probably find better ways to use the site. We are still adding and moving things around so stay tuned.

Seems to be a huge amount of room on the page for ad's............and this format sucks.

Avatars are fixed and should be displaying now.

Looks like they are using a cheaper scaled down version.
Probably saving a bunch of dough.

I got that too but at least the first post of every page isn't in a 2 word line

I think the ad in the body of the last post in the thread is new also ? The only user improvement I've really noticed over the years is the automatic sizing of pictures.

Too 'busy', layout is complicated, too much small print, only 10 posts per page and I count 6 ads on each page!
That said, I suppose it's a business step forward for the owners, I'll get used to it.

I also hate this new formate and hope that it goes back to the way it was as I liked the way it was before. I clicked onto the web-site and thought that my computer was screwed up with no warning.

There's no way this is permanent. It must be a malfunction on the backend of the site....it's too terrible to be legit. I'm 31 and remember what computers operating systems looked like when I was in elementary school. This is it!!

First thing - pretty sure this is permanent until the next update in like 8 years or whatever.
Second, it's funny you said that. I've been around here since Jeff started this site in the 90's and I'm absolutely sure I've seen this format used on OSO in the past!
Third, everyone always complains when they change the format or update something. There's pissed off threads about every update since the beginning...Well, maybe not the beginning because the beginning didn't have a forum and was pretty horrible actually LOL.

But whatever, it is what it is. Not the end of the world.

Good no ad in first post but seems like a ton added in between. It will be like FB soon more ads then content.
