My 23 year old nephew is navigator on the bridge of a destroyer . Been sailing in Chicago Mac races with my sister since he was 8. Knows his Chit to say the least. He has told me stories that would scare you. Don't assume because they are in the service they know what they are doing.

Do not assume because they are driving a bigger boat they know what they are doing, Learned that from the US Coast Guard 40 years ago. Mostly boys trying to get the hell out of Kansas.

I spent 7 years straight, offshore, and have all the respect for professional mariners of all nations. Especially for the Coast Guards of the various countries I worked in/around.

"The ship's captain, along with the officers and men on watch that night are considered to have made critical mistakes which caused the collision."

That's it? That's all they're giving us? Nobody looked at the radar? Nothing?

Hey Quinlan, Do you have any pictures of the performers? Any gender confused individuals?

Kind of embarrassing, and a shame that young sailors are losing their lives without being in combat. I can't help but wonder if the lack of funding for the military in the previous administration has resulted in poor or insufficient training of these folks. I also question if this is a trend that will manifest itself in the other service branches.
