Hi Derek, I originally started off with a mirage 21 and that prop was bringing me up to almost 5000 RPMs, so I borrowed a stainless steel Michigan wheel which was a 23 pitch that had really good push and mid range, at 4000 RPMs I was running right at 50 miles an hour but on the top end that Michigan will would only spin up to 4600 rpm's that's why I went with the Mirage 23 and I actually lost my mid range and also speed on the top end even though that wheel turned up to 4800 rpm's??

I would try to find an old Mirage 23 or 25... non plus. Those older heavy V's with drives running deep seem to like the 3 blades. The older Mirage will likely spin better than the plus. I had a 242LS with big power and the four blades (especially Hydromotive Quad IV) just made the back end too loose.

The '95 Indy Edition 271 i ran back in the day had a non-cupped regular Mirage prop on it.

Hi knot for me you had replied to a question I had a few months ago about propping my sr 271 w/496ho in it, you said you were spinning a non cupped mirage back in the day, what pitch was it and was it a plus or regular mirage? Thanks for any help still playing around with props

That boat is only going to run 60 with the power you have. The Bravo 22 will loose 2mph at the top but it's the best for economy cruise and getting on plane. You need another 100 ponies to make the 24p work.
