Are headers gasket good twice?

ok , so i did a mistake... putting back my engines in, i did not install my silent choice diverters before installing engines... tonight i tried to install them. Was not successful! I was able on both cylinder 1-3-5-7 sides, but simply impossible for 2-4-6-8 sides...

first solution i think of is remove header, fit the diverter, and bolt back header, but wondering if my brand new installed headers gasket installed last week, without the engines ever been started up, would still be good? Or once it is tighten up once its over?

second solution is remove engine again but i dont feel like doing it again...

third idea is remove sealed exhaust tips from outside, but i fear they dont come off or even damage the gelcoat...

what would be your choice?

thanks again!

I'd do exhaust just to check and make sure they are sealed up good. Take the screws out and pull safety wire around to cut the sealant. Tap in plastic wedges and take your time.

Most definitely re-usable. But it's not my boat. :)

Do yourself a favor and buy the copper mr gasket seals. Not only are they re-usable but you don't have to deal with the crap that comes off standard gaskets.

Hasnt been run? What gaskets? The Grey graphite ones-no way. Most others probably.

They are fel-pro performance gasket
cant tell ehat they are made from
but i think they are part number 1411
that is what us written on a paper besides the description

I think i found them online

https://m.summitracing.com/parts/fel-1411

engines have not been run yet with those gasket

one way to find out. if they stay completely together after disassembly, they are most likely good to go. if a buncha stuff comes off the gasket and sticks to the headers or heads, need new. the white Mr Gasket 12 buck ones in auto parts stores work well. and you don't have to wait on the UPS guy.

You can coat both sides of the gaskets with the orange colored hi-temp silicone lightly before installing them. They will be reusable at least one time as long as you use them in the same orientation.

i personally never put any type of gasket sealer on a header gasket, not even the right stuff.the gaskets the op used can be reused because he never fired the engine.i use that same gasket on my run stand and have reinstalled them many times with no exhaust leaks.
