I bought a single $500 light for my transom on a 32' curser thinking one good light should be easier to install and cost about the same as multiples. Wrong !!!!! very poor light compared to 2-3 $150 lights IMO

There are some new navigation lights that use solar and they are pretty cheap. You could have a look at those.
