Skater repower project has begun
I have been saying since I bought it that I was going to repower the Skater and make it more manageable and slow it down.
I bought a set of new Mercury 700s and yesterday the project began in earnest. Brand X will be doing the work and I will try to keep the updates going as we progress. The job will involve stripping out the systems needed to run big-power blower motors and decluttering the bilge. It will also include redoing the entire dash to make it fully digital and cleaner. All the engine functions will be routed to new Garmin and Smartcraft controls.
I will be keeping the BAM transmissions and the driveline as it has been to keep it simple and bulletproof.
Feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer as we go. The goal is to have the power swap done before the middle of August so I can make the events at Pickwick, LOTO and Cumberland.
This is the boat.

heck of an engine, 700 hp, supercharged, closed cooled, and runs on 89 octane !
how much of a window do you have connection with engine weight before they need to be moved.
