Jay Pilini Marine completes first 34 cat
.
Jay Pilini of Jay-Pilini-Marine is very proud to present his latest offering and what others might say his greatest work. The catamaran boat pictured below truly is a work of modern marvels. One can easily study the building blocks to his all-composite hull and say that the boat is composed of the latest materials in boat building. But there is something more important than the build materials and that is the motivation behind the new model. The motivation is to fill a void that was created with the introduction of the new 400R power plant. The 34 foot cat is an excellent platform to transmit the brute horsepower of the 400R to forward motion in offshore waters. The XCS 34 measures closer to 35 feet than the model name implies. What sets this new craft different than other cats in this boat length is the price. Part of the lower price is a result of streamlining his production line and doing the rigging in-house. Jay was very careful to only show us the first completed hull, but in reality he has already begun building the third hull, and hull #2 is nearing her completion.
“We have 6 solid deposits on the new model and the shop is working not just diligently but also intelligently” Jay said. The timely ordering of materials for building the cats is a very important part of streamlining the production line. The first six orders are all outboard models but the I/O power plant is an option as well.
Jay’s factory is based in an incredible and valuable location. “The paint shop and our windshield specialists are literally across the street” he added. The windshield makers already have the male mold of the windshield receiver and a set of windshields are due to arrive very soon. The paint will be mostly orange for the first hull as that is what the customer requested. The boat will then go to rigging of the 400R MercuryRacing motors which are all done in-house. The interior will be the last item installed, then off to sea trial and delivery.
