Since your name is Hustler - the 29 Rocket by Hustler is a very well build boat. Another true built custom boat . I would look at that as well.
Just adding --- Prob could find a Velocity 280 if one looking for a used boat the easiest. They are fast for a V bottom NON stepped hull. Corner very well but not the biggest wave crusher. Quality of the Velocity 280 falls short compared to Lavey and Hustler and Sunsation. |
I own a 40 Hustler fiore power by triple 900 HP engines does 110-114 mph. I love the boat but it's to big and to much work to used for a few hours. I want the best 30' single engine I/O that boat that I can buy used for 50K give or take. The hustler is a great boat to take the family on 2-4 day trips on not great for a few hours of fun.

Give a shout out to "Boxer". Ernie's 31' Sutphen did over 80 on the gps 3 years ago on a poker run with 4 of us in the boat. He'll give you the right scoop on the Sutphens.

I tried to pm you, but you don't accept PMs, would really like to talk to you about your 40 Hustler, been looking at possibly getting one, would really like to talk to an owner about the +/- of owning 1. My # is 321-961-2168. BTW, the Kryptonite gets my vote..... Thanks, Dean |
Progression hands down,I have a 27,the 29 has lots of room and will run thruogb anything, call me if you like 516 945 5912

Rough water over 5 feet 30 Superboat can't be beat.
Anything less 27/29 Kryptonite can't be beat. Thats my experience from owning-rigging-and racing (in or against) these hulls. I have 800hp in my 27 and it runs a real 100 everyday. Can take my hands off the wheel at 95. A lot of other really great running boats out there, but those are damn hard to beat. Iv'e been lucky enough to run Activators, Velocity, Progressions (24LD, 27LD and 29), Fountains (27s, 29s single and twin), Warlocks and a few other seriously fast singles. I wouldnt trade my Kryptonite for any of them. Good luck with your decision, at the end of the day you really can't go wrong. Be careful with Fountains, we have replaced 5 Fountain transoms in the past 2 years because of the exhaust tips they used. |
So are all those hulls roughly the same weight?

Thanks Bup!
Dont forget about the Lavey 28 EVO - the only boat in this size with either an open or electrically closable canopy It will run 100 with a 700HP engine. Its incredibly fast for its power and stable at ridiculous speeds for a single engine V, and the bottom a proven Super V lite world champ. Watch this guy in Germany work a Nortech cat like a red headed stepchild. This boat has a GT 1100 and has clocked over 120 UD |
Not on your list but I really like my Donzi 27 ZR. Has a good, efficient, twin step hull.
These points are not on your list but they have a really nice interior with current style and you can get them in relatively "new" model years, and most have a nice color scheme. (dont know how important any of this is to you) |
