Baja 33 Outlaw Prop Selection
Hello all, seeking advice for prop selection on a Baja 33 Outlaw she has twin 570 hp engines with Bravo 1 drives. Purchased a pair of Mirage Plus 27 Pitch that are Labbed from BBLADES runs 73-75 mph. Boat is actually slower then when I ran non labbed old nicked up Mirage 27 and Mirage plus 27 75-78 mph. Explain that lol. Builder wants 5300 rpms I can only get there trimming up quite a bit. What about trying Bravo 1 28 pitch 4 blades or 30 Pitch? Any help is certainly hugely appreciated!!!

I ran 28 B1's on my 33 OL with 625hp, it ran low 80's.......if you cant get the rpm's with the 27's the 30's will be way to much, might try some 25 M+

30s seem steep for that boat, I'd start with the 28s.
I had a 33 PP with 502s/ 26 B1s that ran great, similar hull in that it's a conventional hull. With the 570s you could probably push the 28s better than I could. |
Something is wrong. A 33 Outlaw runs 75 with 500's
Keep trimming up! Trim up till it slips. At 570 HP you should be touching 80. |
A 2000 probably has the drives deep, 3 blades are going to be fastest...... if they are indeed 570 hp, you should be into the 80's..... Your profile says Lake Geneva Wi... isn't there a rediculously low speed limit( 35-45 mph)how are you getting around that ?

Thanks fellas, I do have dyno sheets showing 570 hp. As far as the speed limit they can pound it, it's a 5300 acre lake. I'm thinking I'd like to try the Bravo 1 28 pitch just to see. I have been trimming way up to get 5300 rpms as the builder desires I think it too much slip. Perhaps Mirage plus 3 blade 25 pitch is a testing option as well. Appreciate the input

Bravo 1 26 pitch 4 blades also seem like a good testing option

Were the engines dyno'd with all the marine accessories on them? Most shops dyno the engines without alternator, water pump, sea pump... ect. They also use their dyno shop headers giving your marine engine great HP and TQ numbers. Then you bolt on all your power robbing accessories and bad flowing marine exhaust, and now your 50 HP short!.... X2 engines and your 100 HP down....
