I'm sure it has bottom paint if left in the water, keep that in mind, it's expensive to remove and re-spray gelcoat

Never heard back from Keegan, but have decided to pass on this boat, at least for the time being. Given hours on engines and more so drives, along with the point of apparently it is left in the water for years at a time and only pulled every couple years for drive oil changes and bottom paint touch up, without some local eyes on it first I cant see spending any money toward traveling from NJ to look at it, or pay for haulout/survey

I think its a good idea to pass, just the fact of it sitting in the water yr round would be a no go for me, dont know whats up with Keegan

Yes F-2, does not scream well taken care of. As you are local, what would be the logic of leaving it in year round? Is the boating season that extended, or is it more likely just a cost thing, as water does not freeze, why pay for haul-out and/or dry storage?

TR doesn't freeze, as for why its left in I have no idea, I'll be headed back to the lake in a couple weeks, the boat about 45 min from my place if you change your mind I may have time to take a look.

Scarab - I forgot to call you back, Apologies. However my brother did know of this boat when I told him about it. He said he remembers it being in the shop for quite a few fiberglass repairs 4 years ago, and that it has been for sale for at least 3 years. It does have bottom paint, and said the interior looks like "shyt"....and that it's never covered when he sees it. I'd run away from this one if it was me...If a guy can't cover his boat then I'm sure he's lazy with everything else involved with it. I'd run if I were you.........Price may reflect the condition, but you don't want ticking time bomb...

Hey Keegan,

No worries, and thanks for the info. This boat is now permanently off the list of potentials. I think you hit the nail on the head as to overall care and maintenance, LAZY. I cant fathom only pulling a boat out of the water every couple years. I think this is the type of owner who doesnt maintain something, but rather just fixes it when it breaks, as quite a few boaters do, however that line of thinking is pretty much foreign to us performance boaters.
