Battery Question

Does anybody use an inverter to run AC on cuddy? I currently run 4 Blue Tops and thinking about adding 2 more batteries for just motors. It’s a 35’ Outlaw twin engine 496ho’s.

6 batteries..........you need to move up to a 40 OL..................I cant help ya, I dont have a cabin, just stringers and carbon fiber..........lol

Unless they make a 24 vdc a/c unit u would have to run a DC to AC converter

You would be correct, I would use a DC to AC converter....... Boat is set up for a generator, but I’m think about just using batteries...

thoughts???

I know somebody that has done it in his 38 Powerplay. It takes a big inverter and I think he has 6 batteries.

I am trying to figure out what size converter I will need. It’s a very small AC unit not sure what size it is.

You can probably save $ to skip the AC unit and get a room on lake on the 3-4 times a year that it is needed.

Honda EU2000 generator or the like.

We have this setup on our Nor-Tech 390CC as a factory installed option. Im not exactly sure what size the inverter or the A/C unit is off the top of my head, but it runs off of 2 Group 31 AGM batteries. They can be paralleled to the 3 engine batteries and house battery as well and will charge when the engines are running. We drove from Punta Gorda, FL to Miami in a 9 hour day and I had it running the whole time.

I can run my 5000btu a/c for 2 hours on 1 grp 31 battery for 2 hours till the invertor shuts off for low battery voltage. At that point the battery will start my engine with no issues.
