OT: Notebook Computer Needed
I would like to purchase a used notebook computer that I can play DVD's on in the truck (it is a long way to LOTO). Two problems: 1. I don't know squat about computers other than how to type on OSO thru aol and I'm afraid of gettin' taken on sites like ebay due to this lack of knowledge.
2. Need to save most of my money for winter boat upgrade projects. Really don't want to spend much more than around $400 for maybe last year's model.
Lots of knowledge on here and believe it or not I trust all my fellow OSO'rs. Help me out folks!

Tim,
$400 is a tall order. Most new notebooks that have sufficient compute power and screen resolution start around $1500 new - without the DVD option. Spend a few more bills and you're up around $2K. You might be able to find something for the kind of money you want to spend, but why not look for a portable DVD player instead.
BTW, Dell has a site for refurbished notebooks. Might want to check it out.
