"built with conventional vinylester resin and fiberglass rather than epoxy and carbon fiber or Kevlar"

Help me understand why they are doing this?

With stress and safety in mind, wouldnt carbon fiber be better and also great for marketing? "The new all carbon fiber Fountain 42"

are they capable of using those materials? I thought this required more knowledge and care than fiberglass? I'm not trying to stir the pot but I know outerlimits is VERY particular about how and who builds with this!

Dropping in 4,000 hp to break a speed record is not terribly impressive. I hope no one gets hurt.

Parveys may not run 200mph in their BT but I know for fact it’s a recreational boat

We have built alot of the raceboats out of epoxy & the more expensive & lighter materials. We just wanted to use the same resin & similar materials that all our pleasure boats use. This boat is one of the strongest we have ever built.

Anyone know what the OL kilo boat would run with 4,000 hp. I’d venture it has to be 200+ mph.

I still think OL has a faster Bottom hp for hp.

Temperary insanity?
Or, you just plan losing your mind!
There is NO WAY on God’s Green Earth
