.

After the record attempt, I would leave the boat the way it is and put inside the Fountain Powerboat Plant for people to marvel at

OR

remove the blowers and detune the 2000HP and make it an "everyday" engine package
as far as the hull, one can remove the canopy and put a wrap windshield
....the package becomes a very pleasurable boat at that point

I really hope all goes well and they achieve what they set out to do... looking to have at LEAST 500hp more per side than the last attempt.

transom reminds me of the instigator race boat. Im betting it would hold its own on the race course with most boats like it.

thanks for the pics for us non facebookies.

IMO: this kilo effort isn’t upping the ante or pushing the limits of offshore hull technology. it’s glorified drag boat with a canopy and steps made to look like an offshore boat.
I agree to a point. Running a "rough water" offshore boat for a speed record is kinda like used a framing hammer to see how many staples it can pound then gloating about it afterwards. I'm the minority here but I'd be more impressed seeing how fast a boat could run in 2016's Boyne Thunder water and stay together.

Looks like the same old hull, deck technology that's been around for a long long time...kinda reminds me of the old big bird boat

If they can make a “old hull” run with a new 7 step design, more power to em.

Only has 2 steps, and the old hull & deck technology is faster than anything else on the racecourse.

I’m sure this has already been brought up but in my opinion a same power vs same power would be a awesome challenge. That would really highlight a manufacturer’s hull, setup, rigging abilities etc...
