Would you rather go 200 MPH in a Vee or on a wing (cat)? The Vee most likely wont blow over but might get a little squarely. IMO the wing (air entrapment hull) is way more likely to blow over the higher the speeds get. In any case no one IMO should be going over 150 MPH in a pleasure boat.

There is a time and a place for everything. Running 150,160,170+ is easy in my boat but you need to have correct conditions to do this safely.
in many of the fast cats or v's its not how fast the boats can go, it's how fast can the boat and passengers go in the conditions at that time and everyone be safe.
No matter what fountain does for a speed the most important thing is they do it safely for everyone involved.

it' a 2 way run so if there is a current or wind advantage it will even out.
if a additional 300hp and 10 mph doesn't impress you im not sure what will.
anyone running a v at those speeds and making gains like that is impressive no matter what brand.
So the OL with extra 300 hp and 10 mph isn't impressive but fountain with another additional 700 hp more and 19 mph is that impressive??
R3 saying he's going to run a different boat with 2500 hp per side...

Anyone that doesn't think 180 mph in a v-bottom is not impressive might want to rethink that statement. Takes a great design, alot of setup, horsepower & a really good driver/throttleman .

I have to agree with all that. But to me, the biggest thing to running those speeds is a BIG set of balls! Good luck and be safe!
