anybody using weismann drives?

I am looking for real experiences from real users not catalogue or www. printed information.

any conclusion?
strong?
easy to maintain?
long-life?
are they like experimental drives or do lots of people use them?
any input about these drives would be perfect.

thnx

He dry sumped my # 6 speed master's drives, never had a problem with them, gained 10 MPH with them for $20,000.00 lets see thats $2000.00 per MPH, cheaper than $4000.00 per MPH in engines. Always buyer beware !!

increasing efficiency(sp) of what you have has proven to be more cost effective than overcoming the lack of it with horesepower.

I am not talking about upgrading the drives , companies background or how pro's they are.I am wondering about these strange looking drives.how are they? are they evolution of merc 6 drives?!? dont think so...these are completely different:

pics are taken from their website:

bonus is that you can also adjust the vertical height and play with the effective x dimension,it's like having a outboard jack plate on your I/O

are these drives for only xxtra high budget racing boats?
r they experimental?
is there anyone using them on their pleasure boats?

timucin 10-17-2002 06:53 PM

Catmando thnx for input. I have spoken many times with both of them here in forms.I know they are very friendly people. Will talk to them for sure but all I want to do is to collect some extra info about the drives..
I mean if we make a line starting with
:bravo-1
:aftermarket bravos
:#5
:#6

are these drives coming after #6 drives ? or are they alternative to #6 ? or are they somewhere between #5 and #6?

Sorry for the correction, but the Hallett 54’ has Arneson drives.

timucin 10-17-2002 08:01 PM

hi Mr Rik;
;)

Rik 10-17-2002 09:14 PM

Mr. Catmando, you are exactly correct.

Hello Sir Timucin

The Weismann drives are
also being used on the
ETTORE Super V Twin, The
Boat Has been completely
Repaired and Rerigged with
GM/Vortex Motors hooked to
The drives, Same setup as
Nigel Hooks Scarab.
The boat is running very
well and getting faster as
the Bugs are worked out.
Look for a BIG showing at
Key West.

Rik where is your crystal ball? Talk about what you know insted of what you assume. Someday the truth about the 54 will come out.
For the record my drives were removed before trial. It had nothing to do with performance. Politics politics politics.

All I stated was that the boat has Arneson's on it now.

I know that that is a fact.

T2x 10-20-2002 07:36 PM

Hey Shifter:

I like the red drives a LOT more than the earlier versions......nicer hydrodynamics above the prop shaft centerline........

Now if you only had a little more skeg area..................;)

T2x........ finally impressed.

timucin 10-20-2002 07:39 PM

these drives look like they belong to a spaceship.hi-tech
