Experience with Hydrohoist or Airdock????????????????
I'm looking to get back into a big boat (35-40 ft, 10-12 ft beam) and would likely rent a slip and install a floating lift. I realize some marinas won't allow them so I have that challenge, but does anyone have experience with these, or others? Would you be willing to provide some advice on models or "how they work"? It appears some of them take 10-15 min to inflate.....does that seem like an eternity?

I have an Airdock for my 34' Super Hawaii with an 8' beem. Mine inflates in 5 munites and deflates about the same. Call the folks at Airdock, they can recommend a model for your application.

not an eternity... we are starting to make the arms that have failed on our hydrohoists out of stainless.
I wish someone around me had something like jet dock... I think it looks like a neat setup. |
I have been using a hydrohoist for my boats for the last 25 years. They work well as long as they are maintained once in a while. If you are going as big of a boat as you state you are going to need a 20k lift . They are very pricey new , but you can find them used if you look around. Mine takes about 5 min up or down , it's a 12k b model lift. It attaches to a dock on one side.

Funny thing about lift systems....SUPER expensive unless you're trying to get rid of one, then you can't give them away!! LOL

All lifts are not created equal. We have had very good luck with our Poly Lift brand lifts. Seems like with the bushings, rough water kits, etc they really hold up well.
At at loto everyone for the most part has boat on a lift of some kind. I would guess mine takes 5 minutes to go up and same to go down (I normally stop on way up to unload gear etc and the once passengers and gear unloaded I raise up rest of the way). The one a caveat is that when lift is empty (winter) and it is filled all the way it takes a legit 20 minutes to go down because it has no weight on it. No idea what part of country you are in but lots of used lifts at Loto. Dock realty .com is a good place to check out. |
No idea why youtube link won't show up until someone quotes it |
