Default Understanding the current resale market for used outboards

Everyone,

Acquired the baddest Gladiator this summer. Now, the center console might get traded for a larger used center console. As I decide what boat to buy, one consideration is selling the used engines and replacing with new. My outboard dealer indicates the market for used outboards is weak so they don't take trade-ins. (They'll consign.)

Anyone have input on the current resale market for used engines? Example: triple 2010 Mercury 300s with less than 500 hours on them.

I think the market is flooded now due to the new Higher hp outboards.

Head over to www.Screamandfly.com

They sell tons of outboards on that site.

I have a bunch of used consignment outboards sitting in my shop. They aren't moving too fast.

What are they? 300 Verado's or 300 XS?

The guys over at scream and fly probably won't be much help if they are verado's. The 300xs motors will sell on there.

Guys on S&F don't have much use for 25" shafts.

That’s not a deal. When I can get a brand new Zuke 300 for $15k. Beyond 1000hrs feels like borrowed time and should be priced accordingly.
