While details of the incident are unclear at this time, multiple sources have confirmed that it involved a 36-foot Skater catamaran owned and operated by seasoned performance boat enthusiast and former offshore racer Matt Rice (Matt Trulio's article quote)......

Crazy part to me is the guy has a ton of fast boat experience and it is a good boat........hard to understand how that combo got in trouble!

lots of possibilities - may come out later. Seen the same damage on a cat that tripped on a wave and stuffed the bow. Fortunately, no condolences to start the year and everyone will heal - just a bad day at the beach for those involved which is never good.

To rough out there to be boating. The gulf and especially the area near the sky way can be brutal.

Glad over all that everyone was ok.

That sucks but the boat doesn't actually look that bad and no one seriously hurt, that's good.

By the way, the kid giving the interview was very well spoken and articulate. You could just tell he's a good kid. Props to his parents.
