I have the boat with a repair shop and we are taking the boat out of this shop because of unethical business practices. We have signed no work order and it looks like this shop does not even have work orders according to the law in florida. The shop is in central florida and to take the boat to another shop we have to pay 2200$ plus to move the boat, $2200 for 20 days of storage.

Yeah, I think unfortunately you are getting the raw end of a bad deal here. We charged $400.00 for inside storage (monthly) for a 38' Fountain. This definitely sucks, I wish you luck.

What I might do
Get a written bill, move the boat then take the guy to small claims court. In most cases if this is higher then any others he has changed the judge should side with you. Then he will also have a judgment against him for BBB and anything else he tries to do along with getting a future loan

I have been charged $175 per day for outside storage for just a car. There are laws about sqft and options they have like cameras, fence, guard, ect. and with most of the options they can charge up to around $1 per square foot per day when they want to screw you. So in the wrong circumstance you could have a $10,000 bill for a month of storage. I have been to court over this and have won and lost, usually from me being arrested and the car being towed to a storage lot.
